A few weeks ago, I was asked by my wife’s friend to do some family photos for them. It had been more than a decade since I’d been there, but I decided it would be cool to do the photos at the American Fork Amphitheater (which also happens to be a common wedding venue). It has beautiful stonework in the amphitheater part of the park and large grass fields surrounded by flowers and gardens. It’s a very popular place for photography (there were at least three other photographers there during our photo shoot) because of all the great backdrops and the fact that you don’t have to pay to take pictures there.

We had to cancel our first scheduled time due to weather complications, and I was a little fearful the second time around would be the same story, but it turned out to be the perfect weather for good portraits. It was mostly cloudy which made for nice soft lighting and no harsh shadows.

What made this photo shoot even better was how freaking adorable there baby boy is. They were all photogenic, but that kid was a blast to take pictures of. He smiled the entire time, and his hair was like the cherry on top. It was a really fun photo shoot, and I’m glad I got to be a part of it.
